About Handmade by Tinkara

Hello, I’m Tinkara, a ceramic artist from Slovenia creating one-of-a-kind hand-built stoneware vessels. I began working with ceramics in 2022 during a workshop, where I was drawn to the material for its slowness and its ability to hold time. My pieces often include floral sculptures, not as botanical depictions, but as a language for noticing—a way to draw attention to subtle details and moments. Working by hand allows each piece to grow slowly, shaped by touch rather than fixed expectation, which mirrors this attentive way of seeing. I am deeply interested in the quiet process that unfolds during making, where the passage of time becomes visible in the surface of an object. Within this process, there is a particular presence that feels both still and evolving, capturing the essence of time held in balance.

Through these vessels, I aim to bring a sense of stillness into everyday moments—inviting a slower way of looking and a more attentive relationship with ourselves and our environment.
